Kholeka Chemane (26), affectionately known as Indodakazi YeNtandane, is the princess of maskandi music in her own term. She has consecutively scooped twice the Best Female Artist Award in 2014 and 2015.
She was also nominated for the Best Female Artist Award in the Amantshontsho Kamaskandi Awards in 2016 and for the Best Maskandi Album at the Satma Awards in the same year. She released her debut album tittled Umuntu Yixoki, under the Mjikijelwa Music Production, in 2013 and was also thoroughly mentored in the music industry by the maskandi legend Mjikijelwa ‘Ichalaha LikaShafuza’ Ngubane.
In 2015 Indodakazi Yentandane co-produced her second project tittled Umona. In the following year, Indodakazi Yentandane and Mjikijelwa amicably parted ways. She then established her recording company called Qhawekazi Music and produced her third album tittled Igovu Lenja. Through this company she too has mentored and produced few artists viz Amadodana Entandane.
On stage, she is a marvel to watch and she has shared it with many music icons including Shwi Nomtekhala, Sifiso Ncwane, Jessica Mbangeni, Indidane to mention but a few. She has recently unearthed another talent. She’s also an actress who featured in the feature film tittled Ushuni. She acted along with the popular herbalist-cum-maskandi star, Zamokwakhe ‘Bhaka’ Nzama. Indodakazi Yentandane is the next big thing and force to be reckoned with in the art industry. She was born and bred at Ilovu township in Durban. After her matriculation, she studied the Travel and Tourism at the Icesa College.
