CEO: Recording Industry South Africa (RISA)
Nhlanhla Paul Sibisi is an entertainment-law consultant who started his career at Webber Wentzel, in 1995, where he served his articles and later practiced as a media lawyer until 1999.
He left to join Telkom as a legal advisor and six months later was recruited to become the Head of the Recording Industry of South Africa. In 2001, he was headhunted by Sony to become its legal and business affairs director as well as the Head of Sony/ATV.
In 2008, he left the music industry to join the SABC and in 2011, became an independent consultant with clients ranging from SABC to independent record companies such as Kalawa, TS Records, Big Fish Records, 999 Music, amongst others.
He is a member of the Intellectual Property Advisory Committee which advises the Minister of Trade and Industry, and serves on the Patents Examinations Board. He was the Deputy Chair of the Music Industry Task Team 2; and is the Secretary General of CCIFSA.
