Richard Mensah

CEO: Lynx Entertainment (Ghana)

Richie is an artist who embodies the description ‘jack of all trades’ by virtue of being a singer, song writer, sound producer, video editor/director and the CEO of a record label. Born in 1986 and raised in Accra, Ghana, Richie developed a strong love for music at the tender age of six and performed on various platforms with his siblings, but it was whilst studying Science in Achimota Senior High School that he made his decision to turn this talent into a profession.

Upon finishing Senior High School at the age of 17, he opened his own home studio and started producing beats for various artists as he began work on what ended up being his debut album, “All of Me.” As his level of expertise soared and the quality of his production improved, Richie transformed his home studio to the now existing record company, LYNX ENTERTAINMENT. Signing himself on as the first artist on the record label in 2005, he then proceeded to convince talented musicians who he thought he could work with to join up in his dream of establishing the most successful record label in Africa. OJ Blaq and Asem were the next to sign on and from then till 2009, Irene Logan, Eazzy and Zigi have all joined what Richie likes to call the ‘Lynx Family.’

As a producer and as an artist Richie has collaborated with various musicians from all over the world. Sway, Faze, Tinny, V.I.P., Tic-Tac, Samini, Okyeame Kwame, Wutah, Reggie Rockstone, Obour, Kwaw Kesse, Praye, Bradez, Scientific, Irene & Jane, Becca, Nana Fynn and Mimi are some of the names he has worked with in his short stint in the music industry.

Using his ladies’ man image, his smooth voice and his charming persona, Richie has produced hit singles Frema and When I Get U from his album ‘All of Me’ and ‘London’, ‘Intoxicated’ and ‘Ma Nim Tonn’ have also received rave reviews since their release as singles throughout 2009; helping the young entrepreneur/artist embed his name firmly in the history books of the Ghanaian music industry. His achievements include picking up the Male artiste award at the 2009 Joy FM Night with the Stars event and also winning two prestigious awards at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards for producer of the year and record label of the year.
