No Borders – Let The Music Travel … seems like a simple topic and theme for a conference but like all simple things – people manage to complicate them. How does music travel in the 21st century? The positives and negatives of artist mobility in the continent (Africa) as diverse as ours. Borders. Passports. VISAs. Going digital? Streaming? Technology? Intellectual property rights – how much protection does your music enjoy in different territories? The role of TV, film and advertising in spreading music – sync deals?

The KZN Music Imbizo 2018 is looking for speakers, researchers and industry players willing to contribute to the panel discussions, roundtables and presentations around the theme.
